Atsu Omori – Challenge of Leadership
LMA’s process allowed me to reflect upon how best to use these new tools and ideas.
I have had plenty of Leadership experience but little in terms of any formal development.
LMA was a great opportunity for me to refine the methods and mind-set that leaders and management should have. LMA’s process allowed me to reflect upon how best to use these new tools and ideas. From the first to the last module, the course gave me real life tools and ideas that I could implement with my team on an ongoing basis.
Concepts such as HPAs, Positive Delegation, Emotional intelligence. Not many leaders observe, document and focus upon developing these skills. LMA helped me to realize how both my team and I have been performing and visualize where we could improve. I also learnt the importance of having action steps towards clear goals, both short term and long term. When you climb a mountain, consistent small, steps will help you to reach the peak. The leadership challenge is never ending, so it is important to have solid emotional intelligence to avoid overburdening yourself. If you are lost, the team can also be lost.
Leadership works best on the ‘We’ not ‘I’ model. Be open, delegate and share the responsibilities rather than micromanaging, guide your team to solve problems rather than point out the problem, and turn the task into a fun learning experience rather than a boring daily job.
With only 3 hours per fortnight. LMA gave me many positive influences. Thank you to Vali, Julian and LMA team. Your guidance has lead me to becoming a next level asset in this business.
