Client Case Study

Golden North

Golden North is based in regional South Australia and they needed to become more competitive as a means to better cope with increasing costs across the supply chain and manufacturing process.

Golden North undertook LMA’s Manufacturing Excellence program where all participants gain insight into removing wasteful activity from their workplace by application of appropriate Lean tools.

Staff participated in brainstorming sessions, focused on increasing value added activity, improved visual communication, established roles and boundaries through team agreements, and participated in workplace projects agreed to by the business.

Having Think Perform facilitator’s onsite for 12 months has allowed for relationships to be formed with our factory employees. Engagement with our Operations Manager and building a case for change over time allowed for a solid foundation to be built. Our employees feel a greater sense of ownership and have a better understanding of cost factors in the workplace. An increased ability to suggest improvement opportunities, and with improved communication they are better able to solve problems.

We now have greater confidence within the business ability to be able to cope with future growth opportunities and that we can continue to manage costs more effectively.
