As a result I was able to identify my High Pay-off Activities and how to best manage my time and increase my productivity by ensuring that these were always a priority.

After only 6 months with John Sands I was given the opportunity to strengthen my Management Skills by undertaking the Success Strategies for Team Leaders and Supervisors Course.

I set a professional goal to become a better and more productive Manager.

As a result I was able to identify my High Pay-off Activities and how to best manage my time and increase my productivity by ensuring that these were always a priority. In addition to this I gained a better understanding of my Merchandisers and was able to create a positive, non-judgmental environment for them where they felt comfortable to discuss their ideas and/or issues with me.

Some of the key learnings I gained from the course included:

• The importance of Time Management
• Understanding my High Pay-off Activities
• Understanding on how to best react to people and situations
• The importance of continual Training and open Communication

As a result of the course:

• I am more open minded and non-judgmental with people.
• I am constantly looking at better and more efficient ways to complete tasks.
• I am always identifying new goals and working through them in order to be able to achieve them.
• I have instilled open and honest communication with my Merchandisers.

Some of the measurable results of my participation in the course have been that I have been able to reduce the additional hours claimed by my Merchandisers, ensuring a saving in wages to the company. I am now managing my time in the field more efficiently, saving on both time and fuel costs. A better working relationship with my Merchandisers has resulted in a noticeable decrease in work absences.

This course has seen me grow into a more productive, open-minded and organised Manager. The skills that I have learned from the course are now a part of my regular routine, which has seen me succeed in all aspects of my life.

Now that I have completed the course, I understand the importance of continually identifying goals that I wish to achieve and put in the necessary steps in order to achieve them. I have achieved my personal goal of building a cat enclosure to comply with new Council rules!
