Matt Kimber – Challenge of Leadership

I found LMA's Challenge of Leadership course to be extremely valuable in developing my leadership skills and capability.

It was great to engage and collaborate with other participants to work on projects, plan of action activities and share our own experiential learning.

I was enrolled into the COL as part of my development pathway and took the opportunity to focus on improving my time management and job management skills. I also aligned my development goals with increasing team trust/cohesion and my own effective leadership.

Upon graduating, I find myself with more time during the day and never having imperative tasks uncompleted. I am responding to customers earlier and have more time to focus on my high payoff activities, no more getting bogged down by the little things that have been successfully delegated to my team.

There were so many wonderful ideas within the course content. A few of the most beneficial learnings for me included do it, delegating it or dump it, above the line, two-way communication, and the time analysis worksheets. This has helped me formulate new behaviors around a more optimistic and positive approach towards my day and how I communicate with others. As well as a significant opportunity cost benefit for the business given my focus on value-added activities.
