Bronwyn Laws – Challenge of Leadership
From an attitudinal perspective, I have found myself consistently being above the line in both my personal and professional life.
My enrollment into LMA’s Challenge of Leadership course eventuated by luck as my colleague was unable to commit due to a change in roles. My employer offered me the opportunity which I was delighted to accept.
My main developmental goals focused on several key areas to maximise individual, team and business performance, which included.
- Develop and implement a new process to eliminate overdue holdover leases.
- Train, delegate and empower my Senior Fleet Manager to take over six of my current tasks and responsibilities.
- Reduce the number of vehicles overdue for a service by 20%.
From a personal perspective I decided to plan, budget and attend 6 activities with my Family which was incredible fun and rewarding.
There was so much great content in the program it’s quite hard to narrow down my key learnings. High payoff activities/Big rocks were a standout and shifted my mentality to focus on projects and business improving activities as imperative actions. The 5 Whys has given me great structure to problem solving and eliminated several issues that previously occurred on a regular basis.
From an attitudinal perspective, I have found myself consistently being above the line in both my personal and professional life. I have a deeper understanding of what roles each of my team members play and how to best empower and motivate them. Seeing the measurable results achieved through my goals, learning and application is a great motivator for me to sustain these new skills, habits and behaviors moving forward.
