After my recent promotion to a higher position within my organisation, I wanted to grow my managerial capabilities and learn new skills around communication and motivation. I wanted to become a better leader and learn to make the most out of both mine and the team’s abilities. I was interested in learning more about communication styles, and techniques to deal with challenges. This development program offered a great opportunity for me to improve my leadership skills, with support and guidance from my Mentor, Client Support, and Facilitator.

Public speaking is an area that I found challenging, and so, I was looking to build my confidence around presentations.

I really enjoyed the social aspect of the course, getting to know the other participants and hearing their insights and interpretation of the course material has been eye opening. It has made me appreciate how diverse workplaces are, and how the core lessons can be applied in different ways, and across different industries.

I have picked up new skills in delivering feedback, both positive and negative, and have learnt the importance of body language and tone. I am more self-aware and always thinking about how I can do better and continuously improve both myself and the team. I have learnt a lot about managing a team, delegating effectively, and the importance of empowering and trusting my team.

I benefited greatly by using the weekly Focus Goals plus, breaking larger tasks into manageable portions has allowed me to achieve my goals at a steady pace, which in turn has grown my confidence in my abilities and I’m particularly proud of how far I’ve come with my public speaking!
