Jason Davies – High Performance Management

I also learned the value of using authority with purpose.

When I first joined the High Performance Management (Diploma Leadership & Management program), I was looking for more than just another course. I wanted the knowledge, confidence, and capability to move forward in my career. I knew that to step up as a leader, I needed to better understand the people around me. How they think, how they respond, and how I could bring out their best. Emotional intelligence was a big priority for me, and I saw this program as the chance to develop it properly.

One of the biggest realisations I had was the importance of staying true to who I am as a leader. Not everyone will agree with you, and that’s okay. What matters is showing up as the best version of yourself. I also learned the value of using authority with purpose. Knowing when to use it and why makes a huge difference in how your team responds and how effectively you can influence outcomes.

These insights weren’t just theoretical, they translated directly into real wins at work. My workplace project ended up saving the company $50,000, which was a huge achievement and a clear demonstration of what I’d learned. And almost as soon as I completed the program, I earned the promotion I’d been working toward, proof to myself that the effort and learning were absolutely worth it.

Looking back, one of the things I appreciated most was the diversity within the group. Being able to learn alongside people from completely different roles and industries gave me perspectives I wouldn’t have gained anywhere else. It pushed my thinking and helped me grow as a leader.

I would definitely recommend LMA’s High Performance Management program. It challenged me, expanded my skills, and helped me step confidently into the next stage of my career.
