Jessica Jolly – Challenge of Leadership

One of the best ideas for me was how to empower and develop my team to create a high performing work environment.

I was presented with an opportunity to participate in LMA’s Challenge of Leadership program by my workplace to further develop my leadership skills. Having already completed the Success Strategies for Team Leaders & Supervisors program with LMA previously I knew that I would be able to successfully develop my skill set even further in a supported environment to achieve the next phase of my career progression.

Using LMA’s goal setting process I structured new professional and personal development goals. From a work perspective these goals focused on developing the skills required to create a highly engaged, skilled and productive Team. Personally, I wanted to challenge myself to see how much I could grow in both my personal and professional life.
LMA always provides great learning content for workshop discussions. One of the best ideas for me was how to empower and develop my team to create a high performing work environment. I was able to put this into practice through the plan of action activities allowing me to create new habits around understanding different personality styles and style flexing my communication accordingly.

I achieved a lot throughout this process. I was able to develop my own dexterity, increasing my self-awareness of how I approach and manage different situations. I am more confident with my decision making and presentation skills. The big one being learning how to get more out of my team which has increased overall team efficiency by 30%. Personally, myself & my partner were able to set & achieve the goal of purchasing our first home, planning renovations & moving in – all in the mist of welcoming our second baby girl into the world!

I would happily recommend this program to others. It allows you to develop a higher level of skills which not only benefit you, but also your team and your company. The delivery is engaging and creates a supportive learning environment through the three LMA learning partners – Facilitator, Client Support and Manager/Mentor.
